(Yicai Global) July 26 -- The 100-day countdown to the fourth annual China International Import Expo, the world’s biggest import-themed expo, started today.
The six-day event will open in Shanghai on Nov. 5, Sun Chenghai, deputy director of the CIIE bureau, said at a press conference.
More Fortune Global 500 companies will attend this year and a number of new products, technologies and services will have their global debut at the CIIE, Sun said.
The CIIE will again have six exhibition zones: food and agricultural products, automobiles, technical equipment, consumer goods, medical equipment and healthcare, and services trade. The zones will cover 360,000 square meters, Sun said.
This year’s expo will also have special zones for low-carbon energy and technologies for environmental protection, as well as biomedicine, smart travel, smart homes and green household appliances. The CIIE aims to spur green collaboration between companies, Sun said.
