(Yicai Global) April 24 -- Trensor, a Chinese manufacturer of pressure sensors, has secured nearly CNY100 million (USD14.5 million) from its latest fundraiser.

The proceeds of the Series C round will be used mainly to hike Trensor’s production capacity and expand in the Chinese and overseas markets, investor Blue Lake Capital said yesterday.

Founded in 2009, Trensor designs and makes pressure sensors and integrated temperature and pressure sensors for the industrial, auto, and home appliance sectors. More than 80 percent of its products are exported to Europe and North America for use by carmakers such as Ford Motor and tier-one vehicle parts manufacturers including Cummins, Hanon Systems, and Valeo.

Blue Lake Capital founder Hu Lei said pressure sensors have value in both fuel cars and new energy vehicles, so it is very optimistic about the future development of Trensor, one of the very few firms in China with experience of mass production in the passenger car sector.

Wuxi-based Trensor has developed integrated temperature and pressure sensors for the thermal management systems of NEVs, for which it has already won orders and built new production lines.

At the ongoing Shanghai Auto Show, Trensor’s integrated temperature and pressure sensors have been sought out by procurement staff from many automakers and first-tier suppliers, a source at the company told Yicai Global.
