(Yicai Global) Jan. 3 -- Eighty-six percent of people who contracted Covid-19 in China had a fever, according to a recent survey by Yicai Global.

Half of those polled experienced at least one major  Covid symptom -- fever, soar throat, cough, fatigue, and pain -- the results of a survey conducted between Dec. 15 and 20 on nearly 1,000 people who had recovered from the virus showed. Women were ill for longer and there was a higher prevalence of coughs among women.

Fifty-seven percent of those who completed a four-dose course of vaccination had a fever, much lower than the survey’s average of 86 percent. Two-thirds of respondents had had three jabs, and 94 percent of them had no underlying disease.

Drinking a lot of water and sleeping were the most effective ways to recover, the survey found, adding that the sick mostly took medicines with ibuprofen or acetaminophen, Tylenol, and Lianhuaqingwen capsules to lower fever and relieve pain.

Some 48.5 percent of the surveyed people felt relieved after being infected, as they had already taken into account the possibility of turning positive and mentally prepared themselves for that.

Nearly half of them infected everyone they live with, while about 16 percent infected 70 percent to 80 percent of their co-inhabitants.

Almost 80 percent felt happy, relaxed, and relieved after recovering, but some are worried about getting infected for a second time.

There was a higher percentage of fever cases among those living in Beijing and Shanghai, while those in Guangdong had more chance of a sore throat. Most of those with Covid in Beijing tested positive for three to seven days, some for as long as 10 days, with those in Shanghai and Guangdong mostly between three and seven days. A third of people living in Guangdong had it for only one to three days.
