(Yicai Global) Sept. 29 -- Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. [NYSE:BABA] will likely set up the first Alibaba Intelligent Gas Station in Hangzhou next month, offering comprehensive smart refueling services, Znjchina.com reported.

The company will roll out the project in two stages. The first phase mainly covers transforming traditional gas stations. The second is set to automate refueling systems; license plate number, owner and oil type identification; and payment by next year.

Devices will identify drivers using Taobao.com data. After the system checks information on them and their vehicles, they will be able to use the station's services by parking their automobiles in the refueling area. A robot arm equipped with infrared cameras will select the appropriate fuel and open, refuel, and close the tank.

The intelligent gas stations will learn users' demands through big data to efficiently manage petroleum products.
