(Yicai Global) Jan. 18 -- Vision systems provider Beijing Aqiu Technology Co. (Aqrose) pulled in USD8 billion in A-round funding as it looks to shore up its team and push the limits of the robotics sector.

DCM Capital and Baidu Ventures led the round with support from Long Capital and other institutions from the angel round, Arqose said in a statement today.

"We want to relieve more people from boring and dangerous work and allow them to do more interesting and meaningful things," founder Huang Yao said. The firm will explore and extend the boundaries of robotics applications by tying in artificial intelligence, he added.

Aqrose will further increase research and development in such technologies as machine learning, 3D vision and robotics. In the short term, it plans to focus on product aesthetics and logistics, which can be applied to 3C electronics, auto parts and distribution, Huang said.

3C means computing, communication and consumer electronics.
