(Yicai Global) Nov. 30 -- Chinese state-backed carmaker BAIC Motor is recalling 69,358 electric cars with potentially dangerous braking systems.

The auto firm filed a recall plan with the State Administration of Market Regulation to repair the vehicles for free starting tomorrow. Models affected include the BAIC E, EV, EX, EU, EH and Weiwang EV series made from Feb. 28, 2012 through May 8 this year.

Vacuum boosters reduce the human effort required to depress the brake pedal. Common symptoms of the component being faulty include a stiff pedal, longer braking distance and the engine stalling when the brakes are applied.
