(Yicai Global) June 2 -- Just a day after teaming up with Germany's Continental AG [FWB:CON], Chinese search giant Baidu Inc. [NASDAQ:BIDU] has penned a deal with Robert Bosch GmbH, also from the European country, to deepen cooperation in intelligent transport.

Bosch will provide Baidu's Apollo project with sensors, hardware and the 'Bosch Road Signature' service for vehicle localization, the German firm said in a statement. The two companies will also assist and support the drafting of legislation related to automated driving in China.

The test vehicle, developed by both firms, has enhanced driver assistance systems for use on freeways and is equipped with a number of Bosch products, such as mid-range radars and a multi-purpose camera.

A leading internet service provider in China, Baidu has been involved in the research and development of automated driving technology since 2013, and boasts a number of core technologies in the field.
