(Yicai Global) Aug. 27 -- Chinese stock markets in the afternoon sustained their morning gains as bargain hunting inspired by US stock market rises last night continued unabated.
The Shanghai Composite Index ended up 0.61 percent at 3,350.11, while the Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.79 percent to 13,535.09. The ChiNext, which tracks Shenzhen-listed growth enterprises, was up 1.70 percent at 2,689.17.
US shares hit new highs in both the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P500. The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index ended 0.3 percent higher at 28,331.92, and the S&P500 Index climbed 1.02 percent to 3,478.73, while the Nasdaq Composite Index surged 1.93 percent to 11,665.06.
