(Yicai Global) Aug. 27 -- Chinese stock markets opened up following the lead of US shares, which closed higher last night as investors went bargain hunting after yesterday's overall slump.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.11 percent up at 3,333.49, while the Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.28 percent to 13,465.89. The ChiNext, which tracks Shenzhen-listed growth enterprises, was up 0.36 percent at 2,653.74.

US shares hit new highs in both the Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P500. The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index ended 0.3 percent higher at 28,331.92, and the S&P500 Index rose 1.02 percent to 3,478.73, while the Nasdaq Composite Index surged 1.93 percent to 11,665.06.
