Beijing Daxing Airport Economic Zone Issues First Investment Projects

(Yicai Global) May 30 -- The economic zone around Beijing Daxing International Airport today issued its first projects for investment.

These include an international exhibition center, health center, shopping town and comprehensive bonded area, Xinhua News Agency reported.

With functions such as that of exhibition center, conference center and office and catering, the international exhibition facility project seeks to become a hot-spot for high-tech professional expos, entertainment events and academic exchange conferences.

The international health center project includes a hospital and medical product development and health services facilities. It seeks to lure leading industrial firms to become an innovation and development base for leading-edge biomedical technology and an influential life health base in China and the Asia-pacific region.

The international shopping town plans to build itself into an experiential shopping facility, which contains high-end retail department stores and specialty catering services.

The comprehensive bonded area project plans evolve into a comprehensive bonded zone that combines bonded logistics, services, research and development and processing as a pilot area for further opening-up.

The zone is projected to cover about 50 square kilometers. The 26-square kilometer west section will develop supporting industries such as international medical care and airport support, while the 24-square kilometer eastern portion will cultivate sectors like international exhibitions, comprehensive bonded services and air logistics.

Beijing Daxing International Airport will be the world's largest aviation transport hub on its completion. Its construction, which started at the end of 2014. It is slated to start operating at the end of September.
