(Yicai Global) Sept. 12 -- Chinese sensor manufacturer Beijing BeeTech Inc. [SHE:300667]  won a silver prize for its embedded optical fiber Bragg grating sensor at the 2017 World Internet of Things Exposition's New Product Achievement Awards.

BeeTech's wholly-owned subsidiary, Wuxi BeeTech Sensor Technology Co., developed the all-metal sensor, which can be adapted to a variety of materials. The product's adaptability to different applications exceeds that of 95 percent of similar kinds of sensors, the firms said.

BeeTech provides system solutions for digital oilfields, smart industries, and smart grids. It also supplies micro-electromechanical system chips for automotive electronics and consumer electronics products.

The 2017 World Internet of Things Exposition, held in Wuxi in China's eastern Jiangsu province from Sept. 10 to Sept. 13, saw many domestic and overseas companies in attendance, including SoftBank Group Corp.'s [TYO:9984] Advanced RISC Machines and Chinese communications device maker Huawei Technologies Co. There were more than 1,000 new product appraisals undertaken at the event with 12 gold, 24 silver and 36 outstanding awards handed out.
