(Yicai Global) June 3 -- A high-speed railway linking Beijing to Xiong'anNew Area, China's new smart city project about 100 kilometers from the capital city, is expected to be operational this year.

Construction of the section from Beijing's new DaxingInternationalAirport to Xiong'an started today, the regional administration in Hebei province announced on its WeChat today. Trains should reach a speed of 350 kms per hour in that part. A route from Daxing to Beijing was already kicked off last September.
