(Yicai Global) March 12 -- The Chinese firm behind Hashworld, a blockchain-based game likened to the classic board game Monopoly, will use new funding to increase the reach of its game and teach its users information about blockchain and digital currency.

Beijing-based Hash Future Tech Co. has secured USD2 million in Pre-A round funding from Will Hunting Capital and Wecash Ltd., news site Lieyunwang reported company founder Jia Yinghao as saying.

In Hashworld, users can acquire a certain amount of digital assets by flipping cards in the visual world, bid for landmark buildings and obtain right of assets. Users who win bidding can freely design slogans on their land.

Hash Future's team of developers were inspired by CryptoKitties, Jia said. CryptoKitties has been a popular blockchain game since its rollout in November last year. However, the game lacks creativity compared to Hashworld, he says adding that it only has one kind of gameplay.

Hashworld supports five kinds of digital currencies including SwftCoin, Elastos, Bitcoin and Ethereum, as well as its own Hashworld coin.

Users can directly access the game through its WeChat official Account or website. Thousands of people registered on the website when it launched, Jia said, adding that over 10,000 people registered within 36 hours. The platform now has over 300,000 users.
