(Yicai Global) Sept.14 -- BMW’s China joint venture Brilliance Automotive’s BMW Brilliance Power Battery Center’s Phrase II has started production, the JV announced today. The expanded factory in North China’s Shengyang will double BMW's power battery production capacity in the country.

The high-energy, high-density batteries it turns out will be the first pure electric vehicles BMW iX3 models are equipped with, Securities Times reported today.

One of the German auto giant’s three battery centers worldwide, this is the group's first production base to make BMW's fifth-generation power battery.
