Born Global, Embarking Anew: Yicai Global Ushers in the Next Decade Born Global, Embarking Anew: Yicai Global Ushers in the Next Decade

(Yicai) Oct. 22 -- On its 10th anniversary, Yicai Global, the English-language new media brand of Yicai Media Group, has unveiled MAPS, its development strategy for the next decade, aiming to speed up the shift from ‘Made in China, distributed globally’ to ‘made globally, delivered globally.’ MAPS stands for Matrix, Artificial Intelligence, Pivot, and Service.

To understand this strategy, one must understand the era we live in. Global coverage of China reached 6.68 million articles in 2025, a four-year high, according to the China in the Eyes of Global Media big-data analysis report, which Yicai Global has published for four consecutive years. Positive coverage continues to account for a larger share and to grow faster than negative coverage.

China’s innovation capacity is shifting from “an object of doubt” to “a subject of study,” and the country is increasingly seen as an important force shaping global supply chains, financial markets, and technological innovation. However, greater attention also means closer scrutiny, as every step China takes is put under the microscope.

Against this backdrop, when the world wants to understand China, a question arises for Chinese financial media: are their sources truthful and complete enough, and can a credible professional media organization deliver that content to global readers?

Meanwhile, AI is transforming the entire chain of content production and distribution, the global media landscape is being rapidly reshuffled, and many Chinese companies going global are entering a new, more systematic, and in-depth phase.

Yicai began its global expansion when it was founded in 2003. From the start, it worked with CNBC and other leading international media outlets to produce English-language news programs, and it set up bureaus and studios in major global economic and financial centers. In 2016, it launched Yicai Global as its English-language new media brand, using English as a bridge to report on China’s economy for a global audience.

Through exclusive interviews with global political and business leaders and heads of international organizations, Yicai Global reporters have made the brand an important reference for international investors and decision-makers assessing China’s trends. Its content now reaches more than 180 countries and regions, with more than 250 million original page views and 10,000 citations a year by leading overseas media.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-2025), Yicai Global’s content was cited 131,000 times by overseas think tanks, blogs, and social media opinion leaders. Overseas large language models recommend it as a reliable source.

Shanghai, where Yicai is headquartered, is a key hub connecting China with the world and an important vantage point from which the world observes China. Its 15th Five-Year Plan explicitly calls for strengthening international communication capacity.

On the technology side, Yicai Global already has a self-developed LLM for finance and AI agents that serve Chinese companies going global. It also has a communication matrix covering major global social media platforms and a dialogue platform for senior global audiences.

Yicai Global will remain committed to being objective, rational, professional, and fact-based, express China’s position on global financial issues, and use truthful, comprehensive, and accurate newsgathering to respond to outside concerns.
