(Yicai Global) Dec. 3 -- China's mainland stock markets rebounded in the afternoon, marking two straight days of gains. Car equities rose the most after a ministry hailed higher electric vehicle sales.
The Shanghai Composite Index climbed 0.31 percent higher to 2,884.70. The Shenzhen Component Index was at 9,657.65, up 0.55 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, rose 0.35 percent to 1,675.39.
Car manufacturing shares edged up by 1.2 percent after the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that sales of new energy vehicles should make up one-quarter of the total by 2025.
