China's Stock Markets Open Higher; Pork Shares Fall

(Yicai Global) Oct. 22 -- Chinese mainland stock markets began the morning higher with the exception of pork-related equities as investors cashed out yesterday's gains.

The Shanghai Composite Index started at 2,945.60, up 0.2 percent. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.3 percent to 9,582.11. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, edged up 0.32 percent to 1,649.76.

Pork shares fell 0.5 percent among other big losers of the morning.
