(Yicai Global) July 19 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland opened higher this morning as bargain hunters bought into yesterday's decline.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.29 percent higher at 2,909.68, while the Shenzhen Component Index started up 0.48 percent at 9,198.82. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, began the day 0.52 percent stronger at 1,532.38.
