(Yicai Global) Aug. 22 -- Stock markets on China's mainland opened higher this morning as investors showed greater enthusiasm following yesterday's mixed bag.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.25 percent higher at 2,887.66, while the Shenzhen Component Index started up 0.3 percent at 9,350.65. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, started the day 0.27 percent stronger at 1,614.13.
