CATL to Build NEV After-Sales Ecosystem With Bosch CATL to Build NEV After-Sales Ecosystem With Bosch

(Yicai Global) Dec. 19 -- Chinese power battery giant Contemporary Amperex Technology is joining hands with German auto parts supplier Robert Bosch to co-develop a sustainable ecosystem for the new energy vehicle after-sales market.

The ecosystem will provide customers with higher-quality after-sales services by using technical expertise and market advantages of CATL and Bosch in their respective sectors, the Ningde-based company announced on its official WeChat account on Dec. 16.

CATL has more than 500 service stations worldwide to ensure the reliability and safety of its batteries throughout their life cycle. Bosch is one of the world’s leading independent auto service networks.

Because of surging raw material prices, power batteries account for 40 percent to 60 percent of an electric vehicle’s cost, giving battery makers such as CATL the opportunity to tap into the NEV after-sales service market.

Battery swapping, which CATL has been pushing in recent years, could also offer the company the chance to take a larger share of the NEV after-sales market, should it grow as the firm expects.
