(Yicai Global) Aug. 21 -- Some 1.74 million visitors were able to see 20,000 products at the 16th Changchun Agricultural Fair, which lasted for 10 days and ended yesterday. The event's trade volume was USD52.5 million (CNY350 million), and businesses agreed to 602 cooperative projects worth CNY43.5 billion.

The fair was sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture, the Jilin Provincial Government and the Changchun Municipal Government. It was one of the biggest comprehensive fairs of its kind in mainland China.

More than 2,100 companies and over 20 professional and government organizations from 18 countries and regions attended the fair, state-run Xinhua news agency reported. The event showcased more than 3,500 domestic and overseas varieties of exotic plants and over 50 cutting-edge technologies, including a soilless cultivation method and liquid fertilizers.

The internet has made green products more accessible to consumers. Many agricultural enterprises displayed their electronic business platform for O2O (Online to Offline) green products at the fair. After a customer places an order online, a company can plant based on demand and the buyers can monitor their green purchases using a mobile device from afar.
