(Yicai Global) April 30 -- German chemicals giant BASF plans to open an e-commerce store on Tmall, the business-to-consumer e-tail platform run by online shopping giant Alibaba Group Holding.

The Tmall store will allow both business customers and consumers to buy paints, pest control products, interior lighting solutions and other goods from its range, the Ludwigshagen-based firm said today.

The firm already has an online store in China on 1688, Alibaba's business-to-business platform, and launched its first consumer-focused e-commerce shop via rival Alibaba's JD.Com in January.
