China Airbnb Hosts' Average Age Is 33, 62% Are Women, Company Report Says China Airbnb Hosts' Average Age Is 33, 62% Are Women, Company Report Says

(Yicai Global) Dec. 10 -- Shared accommodation unicorn Airbnb China's homeowners are 33 years old on average and 62 percent are women, per the Airbnb China Host Community Report the company released yesterday in Beijing.

Almost 90 percent of the firm's Chinese landlords have college degrees or above and one-fifth are from innovative fields, the highest proportions among Airbnb communities worldwide.

The US, UK, Australia, France and Germany are the top five sources of the company's Airbnb visitors, per the report.

"Airbnb has over 50 million vacant houses in China, which means the Chinese market still has huge development space," Shi Yanxin, technical director of Airbnb China, said at the report release conference.

Its landlords present in more than 100,000 cities worldwide had earned over USD80 billion from shared accommodation services as of Sept. 15.

Security has always been a focus for the homestay field, and the company will invest USD150 million in the trust and security sector globally, National Business Daily reported, citing Airbnb China President Peng Tao.
