BYD Wins Order for 64 More Electric Buses From Norway’s Nobina BYD Wins Order for 64 More Electric Buses From Norway’s Nobina

(Yicai Global) Nov. 22 -- Chinese electric vehicle and battery maker BYD has been awarded an order for a further 64 electric buses to be delivered to Norway’s public transport operator Nobina, Europe’s largest bus operator, in the second quarter of next year.

The order comprises 40 12-meter and 24 15-meter e-buses equipped with BYD’s self-developed electric thermal management system, which will be able to adapt to the extreme Norwegian weather, the Shenzhen-based supplier said via WeChat yesterday. They will run in the Nedre Glomma area.

Since the two companies joined hands in 2015, Nobina has operated more than 300 BYD e-buses across Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Earlier this year, BYD delivered 30 buses to Nobina to begin operation in Helsinki by next month to enlarge Finland’s biggest electric bus fleet.

“We will continue to develop the electric bus business in northern Europe,” said Nobina’s fleet manager Jens Råsten. “BYD is a reliable partner, and we are glad to continue our cooperation with it.”
