(Yicai Global) Feb. 4 -- Shares of Chervon Auto Precision Technology soared today after the Chinese firm said that sports cars made by Britain's Lotus Cars will feature its auto parts.
Chervon's stock price jumped by 10 percent to CNY16.68 (USD2.60) this morning.
The Chinese company has received a CNY375 million (USD58.1 million) order for parts used in new energy vehicle motors and electronic control systems from a unit of ZF Friedrichshafen and the products will end up in Lotus models, the Nanjing-based company said in a statement yesterday. The contract period is from 2022 to 2030.
The deal should have little impact on Chervon's current business performance but it will help the Chinese firm build a solid relationship with the famous carmaker and its suppliers, it added.
Zhejiang province-based Geely Holding Group purchased a controlling stake in Lotus Cars in June 2017.
