(Yicai Global) Dec. 11 - Six local cases of Covid-19 were newly confirmed in China yesterday, of which four were found in the southwestern city of Chengdu in Sichuan province, and two in Dongning and Suifenhe, cities bordering Russia in Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, the national and local health commissions reported today.

The Dongning patient is a company employee in charge of equipment maintenance at Customs, and the patient in Suifenhe is a goods loader at the local free trade zone. They both tested positive in nucleic acid tests on Dec. 9. They have been transferred to designated hospitals for isolation and treatment after confirmation of their Covid-19 diagnoses yesterday, according to Heilongjiang’s health commission.

Sichuan reported the four newly-confirmed cases are all in the Pidu district of the provincial capital Chengdu. At present, the three villages and communities where these victims reside have been listed as medium-risk, while the rest of the province is all low-risk. Medium-risk area residents are barred from leaving in principle, under the rules, but those who really need to must show negative nucleic acid test results.

The National Health Commission is reminding the public to wear masks and closely attend to health and safety. Those who have a history of travel to or residence in a medium-risk area or have contacts with confirmed cases or asymptomatic carriers must report to the community and cooperate in screening, diagnosis and treatment for the coronavirus.
