(Yicai Global) Oct. 16 -- China's first-half gross domestic product growth of 6.9 percent could continue through the third and fourth quarters, Zhou Xiaochuan, governor of the People's Bank of China, said at the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors' Meeting in Washington, DC, held over the weekend.

China's economic leveraging campaign is also starting to yield early results, he added, while the structure and quality of economic growth is still improving.

The nation will continue to implement a proactive fiscal policy and prudent monetary policy, encourage deleveraging and prevent financial risks, Zhou added, specifying shadow banking and the real estate bubble as key vulnerabilities that need work.
