(Yicai Global) Nov. 6 -- China Eastern Airlines will buy jet engines and related maintenance from British Rolls-Royce, which is one of the largest civil aviation contracts so far signed at the ongoing trade fair in Shanghai.

The pair penned a CNY10.1 billion (USD1.5 billion) agreement on Trent XWB jet engines at a forum during the China International Import Expo, the Shanghai-based state-owned aviation firm said in a statement today.

The deal involves an order of four engines and maintenance for over 40 units, including the 20 Airbus A350 wide-body long-haul jets the airline ordered in 2016. The first of such planes will be delivered this month.

The CIIE is held at the National Convention & Exhibition Center in Shanghai till Nov. 10, and the trade fair organizers expect participants from over 170 countries with the slogan of "New Era, Shared Future."
