(Yicai Global) June 25 -- China's fixed investment in the transport sector rose 7.3 percent on the year to CNY1 trillion (USD147 billion) over the first five months of the year, Ministry of Transport spokesman Wu Chungeng said at a press briefing today.
The figure kept up the fast pace of expansion in the sector, he added.
The investment included CNY753.7 billion on highways and waterways, up 4.8 percent; CNY224.4 billion on railways, up 12.6 percent, and CNY35.7 billion on civil aviation, up 39.5 percent.
