(Yicai Global) Oct. 11 -- Chinese smartphone giant Huawei Technologies aims to help educate 1 million artificial intelligence professionals in the next few years to match future demand.

Huawei will partner with universities and provide financial and technical support, as well as test platforms for developers and partners to achieve its goal in three years, state-backed The Paper reported Chief Strategy and Marketing Officer Xu Wenwei as saying. Xu was speaking at the Huawei Connect 2018 conference.

The global AI market value will reach USD380 billion in value by 2025, some 90 percent of which involves firms, which is why it is vital to build an ecosystem, Xu said. Different customers need different solutions and the industry can be expanded through a division of labor, he added.

The Shenzhen-based company also launched a new conference today, namely the Global Industry Organization summit, which it will host to connect global firms and promote the development of digital industry.
