China's ICBC Retains No. 1 Spot on Forbes Global 2000

(Yicai Global) May 17 -- The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China has topped the Forbes Global 2000 for the seventh consecutive year. The firm oversees more than USD4 trillion in assets and employs nearly half a million people.

Five Chinese firms, including the state-owned lenders of China Construction Bank, Agricultural Bank of China and Bank of China, as well as Ping'an Insurance Group, made it to the top 10 in the list that ranks 2,000 of the world's biggest public companies. The report that was released yesterday measures firms by sales, profit, assets and market value. 

J.P. Morgan Chase, Bank of America, Apple, Royal Dutch Shell and Wells Fargo took up the other five positions in the top 10.
