(Yicai Global) Aug. 19 -- Lens Technology, a Chinese supplier of iPhone accessories, plans to buy two units from electronics casingfirm Catcher Technology for USD1.4 billion to flesh out its supply chain.

Lens Tech will buyall of Taizhou-based Kesheng Technology and Keli Technology, the Hunan province-based buyer said in a statement yesterday. The target firms assemble metal casings and glass back covers for Apple’s smartphones.

Lens Tech said the deal should help the upstream supplier expand its business downstream while boosting profits. Kesheng Technology and Keli Technology have sound production capacities and industry-leading tech management teams, it added.

Lens Tech's stock price [SHE:300433] closed 0.9 percent lower today at CNY30.70 (USD4.44), after earlier climbing as much as 5 percent.
