(Yicai Global) July 30 -- China's mainland stock markets opened higher this morning, led by firms in the satellite navigation sector, as the Beidou-3 Global Navigation System will officially launch tomorrow.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.15 percent higher at 3,299.57. The Shenzhen Component Index was at 13,595.77, up 0.28 percent. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, rose 0.53 percent to 2,782.11.

Beijing BDStar Navigation [SHE:002151], a supporter of Beidou-3, opened at 8 percent high and hit the 10 percent daily limit to stop trading at CNY45.93 (USD5.56) by 9.36 a.m.; Geovis Technology [SHA:688568], a geographic information provider under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, surged 9.34 percent to trade at CNY77.52 in mid-morning.

The inaugural ceremony will run tomorrow for China's third-generation navigation system the Beidou-3, after its last satellite has recently embarked into orbit and activated on the network, the operator of Beidou system revealed this morning via the WeChat social media app.
