(Yicai Global) July 11 -- China's mainland stock markets extended their gains in the early morning after a high opening, then retreated from their peak as lunchtime approached.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed at 0.33 percent higher at 2,924.85 at the break. The Shenzhen Component Index came to rest at 9,202.76, up 0.4 percent and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, was up 0.74 percent at 1,521.68.
