(Yicai Global) Oct. 29 -- China's mainland stock markets retreated slightly from yesterday's gains in the morning session.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed down 0.4 of a percent at 2,968.05 at the half break. The Shenzhen Component Index stood at 9,799.00, 0.03 of a percent lower and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, dipped 0.31 of a percent to 1,699.22.
