China's Mainland Stocks Shake Off Morning Woes to End on High Note

(Yicai Global) Oct. 9 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland rebounded steadily this afternoon to finish on the up after global trade concerns hampered the morning session.

Overseas markets were hit hard overnight amid concerns of escalating global trade friction that had a similar affect across the Asia Pacific region this morning.

The Shanghai Composite Index was up 0.39 percent at 2,924.86 when the market closed today, while the Shenzhen Component Index finished 0.34 percent higher at 9,506.56. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises listed in Shenzhen, ended up 0.36 percent at 1,622.42.
