(Yicai Global) June 28 -- The Third World Nuclear Exhibition opened in Paris, France on June 26. The China Nuclear Energy Association led a national delegation of 15 Chinese nuclear companies to attend the exhibition and display their internationally competitive China-made nuclear power technologies and products.

Leading state-backed firms such as China National Nuclear and China General Nuclear Power are among these 15 attendees. China's delegation is the largest delegation at the show, which has an exhibition area of 385 square meters. The country will mainly showcase China's third-generation Hualong One nuclear power technology and high-power nuclear generator CAP1400, state news agency Xinhua reported.

The Chinese delegation also includes private firms in nuclear power-related fields such as equipment suppliers for the nuclear power plant project China is building at Hinkley Point, UK, and which France is co-financing, said Long Maoxiong, vice-secretary-general of the China Nuclear Energy Association, adding that their independent innovation is driving the expansion of these private domestic in the nuclear market.

WNE is sponsored by the Association of French Nuclear Industry Exporters. It provides a high-level international exchange platform for the global civilian nuclear sector and promotes technological innovation, global cooperation, and the improvement of international industry standards. The inaugural WNE took place in 2014 and it has convened every two years since.

Some 680 exhibitors from over 30 countries will attend the three-day show, which is expected to attract more than 20,000 visitors.
