(Yicai Global) Nov. 12 -- China Railway has increased the volume of its high-speed train cargo routes to meet the increased demand during the Chinese shopping festival Double 11.

Some 400 trains are used for Bolt Delivery, a new service that covers 58 cities, during the Double 11, said Wang Hongguang, chief of the Beijing-based company's express arm. This is over ten times the number of locomotives used in the same period last year.

China Railway Express will make full use of the high-speed trains and other transport resources to serve the e-commerce, logistics and manufacturing firms with all strength during the Double Eleven from Nov. 11 to Nov. 20, Wang added.

China Railway and SF Express jointly launched the Bolt Delivery, which can reach a speed of up to 350 kilometers per hour, during the shopping extravaganza last year. After expanding the routes to cover almost 70 stations this year, the firms' are expecting to earn more than CNY1 million (USD144,000) each day during the 10-day period.

The firm has also stepped up its cold chain service with a patented technology of 1.5-ton refrigerators that can keep food, agricultural products and medicine chill for up to 110 hours.
