(Yicai Global) June 12 -- China's three benchmark indexes closed lower today. Non-ferrous metal stocks led the gains with an average increase of 1.46 percent.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.56 percent lower at 2,909, while the Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.92 percent to 8,955. The ChiNext closed 0.90 percent lower at 1,474.

The total volume of the two markets was CNY513.4 billion (USD74.3 million), a decrease of CNY52.1 billion from the previous trading day.

Northbound funds from Hong Kong to the mainland logged a net inflow of CNY1.29 billion, which kept up seven consecutive trading days of net inflows. The inflow of funds to Shanghai in the afternoon reversed the daily net outflow.
