Chinese Stocks Inch Up, Led by Non-Ferrous Metals, Chemicals, Aerospace

(Yicai Global) May 16 -- More stocks have risen than fallen on China's mainland stock markets today, and the fields of non-ferrous metals, veterinary medicine, chemical materials and aerospace surfed the rising wave.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.6 percent higher at 2,955.71, with a turnover of CNY226.2 billion (USD32.9 billion). The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.4 percent to 9,293.32, with a trading volume of CNY296 billion. The ChiNext Index climbed 0.3 percent to 1,533.67, with a turnover of CNY82 billion.

Mobile payment providers and fifth-generation wireless network firms sank below their readings of this morning.
