China's Stock Market Opens Lower With ChiNext Down 1%

(Yicai Global) March 14 -- Stock markets on the Chinese mainland opened lower again today after yesterday's slump. There was a short-lived rally after start on the ChiNext Price Index, before it fell deeper to 2 percent.

The Shanghai Composite Index opened 0.44 percent lower at 3,013.6 points while the Shenzhen Component Index started down 0.73 percent at 9,521.62. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, begun 1.02 percent lower at 1,676.61.

Liquor and Beverages lead the gains while Ping'an Insurance [SHA:601318] remains on an upward trend climbing more than 1.5 percent.
