(Yicai Global) June 21  -- China's stock markets closed higher, with the Shanghai Composite reaching 3,000 points and the ChiNext Price Index retreating on some gains.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.5 percent higher at 3,001.98, while the Shenzhen Component Index was 0.87 percent higher at 9,214.27 and the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, rose 1.72 percent to 1,523.81 after soaring 2.43 percent.
