(Yicai Global) Jan. 14 -- China's mainland stock markets closed lower as tech firms walked back their earlier gains.
The Shanghai Composite Index closed 0.28 percent down at 3,106.82. The Shenzhen Component Index fell 0.47 percent to 10,988.77. The ChiNext Price Index, which tracks growth enterprises in Shenzhen, dropped 0.65 percent to 1,922.56.
Communications companies kept their cool amid the otherwise sliding markets with state-owned carrier China Unicom [SHA:600050] rising 4.57 percent. Liquor firms and brokerages suffered the biggest blows.
