(Yicai Global) Nov. 1 -- China's mainland stock markets continued their ascent in the afternoon to end the week higher after falling for the preceding three days.
The Shanghai Composite Index wound up 0.99 percent higher at 2,958.20. The Shenzhen Component Index climbed to 9,802.33 in a 1.73 percent gain, while the ChiNext Price Index, which tracks Shenzhen's growth enterprises, climbed 0.94 percent to 1,687.00.
The Shanghai index, which includes more large-cap stocks in traditional sectors, rose a modest 0.11 percent this week, while the Shenzhen indexes went up 1.47 percent and 0.7 percent, respectively.
