(Yicai Global) Sept. 6 -- State-owned China Telecommunications Corp. [HKG:0728], or China Telecom, has introduced new intelligent account services, including automatic identification of subscribers' own numbers, hardware-level high security authentication capabilities, and single-click inputs for many functions.

The traditional method for logging into an account online can involve multiple issues, including forgotten passwords, difficulties related to real-name authentication, a low conversion rate of users and slow login authentication.

In view of this, China Telecom's Tianyi account holders can use a new service which automatically identifies users' phone numbers to obtain security authentication, said Lv Pin, deputy general manager at the company's marketing department on Sept. 6.

The technology shortens login times for online applications by several seconds using automatic authentication via a user's SIM card.

The new service represents a key mainstream technology trend for the future as well as cutting-edge technology at present, the company said. Only telecommunication operators can use this core technology right now.

China Telecom said the new services unveiled this time will expand account functions to the level of that of an ecosystem in the future through single login authentication. Possible future applications include the combination of phone accounts with payments, cloud storage, big data and industrial apps.
