(Yicai Global) May 7 -- China's trade surplus was USD58.23 billion denominated in dollars in the first four months in an annual almost 33 percent drop. Exports of USD678.3 billion fell 9 percent; while imports of USD620 billion were down about 6 percent, Chinese Customs announced today.

The General Administration of Customs provide no reasons for these data changes, however.

In yuan terms, China's trade surplus in the first four months slid by 30.4 percent to roughly CNY416 billion (USD58.6 billion).

China's trade surplus in April was USD45.3 billion in dollar terms, an increase of 2.5 times per year. Exports of some USD200 billion were up 3.5 percent; while imports of almost USD155 billion fell 14.2 percent.

Expressed in yuan, China's trade surplus in April was around CNY318 billion in a 2.6-fold rise.
