China's US Trade Surplus Expanded 11.9% During First Five Months

(Yicai Global) June 10 -- China's trade surplus with the US expanded 11.9 percent to CNY750.6 billion (USD108.6 billion) in the first five months of the year, customs data shows. During the period, exports to the US fell 3.2 percent to CNY1.09 trillion, while imports fell by one-quarter to CNY335.3 billion. 

The US was China's third largest trading partner, behind the EU and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The total value of China-US trade fell 9.6 percent to CNY1.42 trillion, making up 11.7 percent of the country's total trade.
