China Will Break Single-Day Electricity Consumption Record This Summer, NDRC Says(Yicai Global) July 16 -- China will reach a new record for daily electricity consumption this summer, hitting as much as 24.5 billion kilowatt-hours, according to Meng Wei, spokeswoman for the National Development and Reform Commission.
She did not elaborate on the prediction.
China consumed 652.1 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity last August, and 583.4 billion last month.
