(Yicai Global) July 30 -- The per-capita gross domestic product of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in China was CNY49,000 (USD7,113) last year, 37.7 times greater than the CNY166 (USD24) in 1952 to average a 5.7 percent gain per year, according to official data.

From 2014 through 2018, Xinjiang lifted more than 2.3 million people from poverty, the information office under China's cabinet, the State Council, said at a press briefing today.

Rural poverty in China has fallen to 6.1 percent from 19.4 percent and in 2020, Xinjiang and the entire nation will have completely alleviated poverty, it added.
