(Yicai) July 22 -- Dongfang Precision Science and Technology, a Chinese supplier of equipment and services for corrugated packaging, has become the contract manufacturer of humanoid robot parts for Leju Shenzhen Robotics Technology.
Dongfang Precision and Chinese humanoid robot developer Leju Robotics will join hands on the manufacturing and training of embodied intelligent robots, the Foshan-based supplier announced yesterday, citing a strategic cooperation agreement.
According to the deal, Dongfang Precision will manufacture humanoid robot products with quality following the technical standards and output requirements set by Leju Robotics, and take charge of debugging, deployment, and after-sales services.
The pair will also collaborate on developing new application scenarios for humanoid robots and promoting their expansion in industries such as smart manufacturing, commercial services, scientific research and education, and home services, Dongfang Precision noted.
Dongfang Precision holds a 2.8 percent stake in Leju Robotics, the firm pointed out, noting that this agreement, however, does not constitute a related-party transaction based on current laws and regulations.
Leju Robotics' humanoid robot Kuafu has already been delivered in bulk to customers in the automotive manufacturing, electronics, and cable manufacturing industries, including FAW Group's luxury car brand Hongqi, new energy vehicle startup Nio, and home appliance giant Haier Group.
The company's robot products have also been scaled for applications in commercial services, scientific research, and education.
Shares of Dongfang Precision [SHE: 002611] closed up 0.1 percent at CNY13.60 (USD1.90) in Shenzhen today, after earlier gaining as much as 8.9 percent.
